Claire Keegan Reading At City Library

Claire Keegan

The Irish writer Claire Keegan will hold a reading of her work in the City Library, John’s Quay, Kilkenny on Thursday 15th November at 7.30pm.

Claire is the author of collections of short stories including Antarctica, Walk the Blue Fields and Foster.

Claire has won numerous awards for her writing including the William Trevor Prize, The Francis MacManus Award and The Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. Anne Enright described her stories in Walk the Blue Fields as “perfect short stories”. Declan Kiberd, Chair of Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama (UCD), called Keegan “a natural inheritor of the mantle of John McGahern”.

Claire’s short story, Foster, is one of the texts prescribed for comparative study on the Leaving Certificate syllabus 2014.

The event is free and all are welcome.
